The new Amp Box RS2 features our reference high end power amplifier design. It offers 3-dimensional sound-staging, perfect micro dynamics and ultimate resolution combined with high power output.
The fully discrete class AB amplifier design combines the advantages of both technologies and offers higher fidelity, low distortion and high efficiency. The amplifier features a hybrid configuration, utilizing a differential stage with a double triode 6922 (6DJ8) at the input. This is followed by an oscillation stage employing 2SA1552T and 2SC4027T transistors.
For the output stage, a pair of STD03N and STD03P transistors operate in class AB. The output‘s zero DC voltage is maintained via a DC servo mechanism. The amplifier remains continuously connected to the supply voltage from the adapter, with power-off achieved by disabling the current sources. This effectively shuts down the amplifier‘s transistors and tubes, minimizing current consumption.
